Ristorante Pizza - BzzAgent

My thoughts on Dr. Oetker's Ristorante Pizza
As a BzzAgent I was selected to take part in the Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza campaign. My family loves pizza so we couldn't wait to try this product. I'm not one to buy the more expensive frozen pizza from the grocery store. The way I look at it is, if I'm going to spend that kind of money on pizza I will go to a pizza restaurant so we can get it hot and fresh.
According to Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza's web site (http://www.oetker.us/en/product/ristorante-pizza) they say:
"Italy's top-selling frozen pizza is finally being introduced to pizza lovers in the United States. Dr. Oetker is the NO.1 in Italy and is coming with the best seller Ristorante to the US. Dr. Oetker (urt-ker) Ristorante pizza has quickly become a favorite brand of thin-crust pizza among consumers throughout Europe and Canada. And now the United States can enjoy the taste and the atmosphere of an Italian Restaurant for a fraction of the price while dining at home. Why don't you give it a try?"
BzzAgent provided us with two coupons for two free pizza's along with several $1.50 off coupons to share with friends and family. I was so excited to try what sounded like an amazing pizza that I rushed to the store the day I got my coupons in the mail. Unfortunately the store I went only had 3 of the 6 varieties of pizza that they make. So, I cashed in my coupons for 2 of the Pizza Speciale which is pepperoni and ham on a thin crust with edam, mozzarella and spicy herbs.
The first thing I noticed is that this pizza was not very big. I didn't measure it but it is bigger than a personal size pizza but smaller than a large frozen pizza. I'd call it a snack size as it would take 3-4 of these to possibly fill up my family of 3.
That brings me to my next point, the price. At $4.99 per pizza and the size being so small it would cost me about $20 in frozen pizza to feed my family. For that price wouldn't it be better to just go out to a pizza restaurant?
So, the size and price are telling me it would just be better to go out for pizza but how does it taste? After all the taste and quality are what really matters. But this is a frozen pizza how good can it really be? That is where I was surprised. It did't taste like a frozen pizza but like it was fresh made. The thin crust was nice and crisp like it should be (it is important to follow the directions to achieve this). The pepperoni, ham and sauce were also very fresh tasting and of good quality. The cheese, well I love cheese and no frozen pizza ever puts enough of it on for me! So, if you love cheese like I do you will probably want to add some of your own.
Now the big question, will I buy this pizza again? If it's on sale and I have a coupon yes I would. It really is a good pizza just not a good value for the price and the size.
